Wonders of the Universe - Episode 1 (Pilot) - "Human/Cyborg Relations"
(-NOTE- all music is free to use from the Newgrounds.com portal or from other sources)
Welcome aboard the flagship of the White Dwarf Line: The Wonders of the Universe! We hope you enjoy your stay!
In the pilot/introductory episode of our new series, we're introduced to life aboard "The Wonders the Universe," a galactic-class cruise ship with alien passengers and crew... but where the humans are forced to do the dirty work. It's Quintin Quasar's first day on the job, and already he feels out of place as the ship's computer helps him get adjusted.
We're very excited to not only to give you the first episode of this new series, but to continue to develop and expand this universe with short to middle sized cartoons. And we'll do our best to make sure that's not an empty promise!
Enjoy the pilot episode!

One thing that bothered me was I found it took too long to build up a joke and just as long to deliver the punch line. There was just too much dead space in between jokes. It just didn't feel like there was enough flow and momentum.
I am comparing this to the older Legendary Frog stuff which felt like the story and jokes progressed smoother and pulled me in more.
The animation was great of course. Especially with the lens on the metal ball. Really groovy!
Let me say this. You and the rest have brought a rather interesting idea to the table. It opens up so many themes that could come to play, which gives me the feeling that not only could the series be comical, but it could also be dramatic, and many other themes that could be explored. There is so much potential to it that I feel you already know what you'll be doing with the next episode, and the episode after that, and then the next episode, etc.
With this being original, it is rather hard to keep it from resembling other stories, especially in the sci-fi genre. Thankfully, I haven't heard of any ideas like this.
The character design and their personalities are great for the humans, but maybe a little cliche for my liking. I do think though that the aliens could use some work or some slight adjustments. While it is nice to have a pop-cultural reference here and there, it should not be overused. If further alien races are to be shown in further episodes, I will truly be excited, as not only due the different races could add more situations, but could also reflect the attitude that the many races have to the humans. The robot assistant though, is a great character in both voice acting and design.
The animation and rendering is just spot on. Backgrounds are very inspiring and theatrical, as well as the voice acting, and the film cutting work as well. It is exactly where it needs to be and should not be changed too often.
While the pilot for Wonders of the Universe was a bit short for my taste, it explains precisely what kind of a show it will be, and it does not disappoint. There is creativity just waiting to bloom, and I am looking forward to it.
I am quite impressed by this. The animation was decent, the story idea sounds like it has the potential to become something incredible and elaborate, the music is epic, and overall I feel like it has some potential to be a great series. I loved the computer module, mainly because it was hilariously-annoying and sounded like it had Tourettes. I also liked how you referenced the infamous White Star Line, which just tells me this voyage is just asking for trouble (and comedy).
Was I the only one that pictured LF's Alfred Ashford narrating the whole thing? I couldn't help but giggle and imagine the, "mmMMMM~Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees!" after a few sentences. Well done, Joey.

Backgrounds were equally great! Well done.
I look forward to the next one.
