My initial plan when starting the "Quest for the Triforce" project was to use the old models. After all, they're not bad models. But knowing how much my style has changed, and knowing that I would need to create NEW characters for the movie, I wanted to see hwo they would look updated.

If I had to draw a new character int he old style, would I be able to recreate the same look again? Even if I kept the chibi, round eye look, I'm sure the new models would have looked much better than the old, and there would be a large disconnect.

So I started to create Link, and it became clear pretty quickly that the new models would look better overall.

Version one of this picture looked a bit different. I had link wish much larger eyes and chubbier cheeks. I think I was trying ot retain a younger, more chibi look. After some tweeking and some advice form Jess I think I got his look down pretty good.
