Daddy has a funny look.
He kisses mommy with one word.
"Fook.."
It comes out slurred from the alcohol.
"Hush now, my baby doll.."
He whispers to mommy
And slits her throat so grottely
The wound is colourful, very strong to seem.
I wish I could awake from this horrible dream.
I whimper and start to cry.
Why, why, why did my mum just die?

Now Daddy looks at me
And I turn away
"Now my petal,
Let Daddy have his way."
I freeze at those words.
Those sick fuckin' words.
Dark figures,
Surround him.
Blocking out the sun.
"Hush now my darling,
Its only a bi

Love Is At WarThey have it all wrong; I just know that they do
Falling in love is not what it use to be.
You can't cage it, contain it, or set it free--
You can't control it, want it, just let it be.
Why are they doing this? I don't understand;
Searching for something, yet not taking a stand.
Do they even know what love is? Maybe I don't
But what I see, could it be?
Ah, how it makes me lose hope.
Love is a power; it grows from within.
A desire that burns in the heart of a friend!
But what if it isn't? What if I lie?
What if love is nothing, just something that passes by?

Are We SelfishIn a world always cold,
her enemy, growing old,
a woman finds her fold
crooked and undersold.

A life lost in promise
with moments so tenuous,
disaster oft a near miss,
never curing with a kiss.

He's the one for me, however this is more than I ever bargained for. At the cost of not being alone, I am granted a tumultuous ride with breaks of heavenly sweetness. I see greatness in him, however it is often buried in an even greater sadness. He won't open that up to me. Is he worried that it'll hurt me, or is he just ashamed?

I wish, somehow, you'd taken the umbrella
It's close again; the rain is warm and sweet

I know it wouldn't hold against the weather
in New Orleans - the hurricanes and heat

It couldn't shield you, like some space defender,
from attack ships, when the game decides to cheat

And though you're cannier, more fun, more fleet

Just taken it, with one swift, sanguine gesture
Like I take your legs sometimes, petite

The BerlinerSick of writing about the pianist,
she leaves for Berlin and makes her
home next to the absence of a wall
She contemplates the American Embassy
and changes her cigarette brand
She sets out walking
and considers percentages of lives,
eats alone, begins to consider meat as flesh,
removes paintings from their frames
and in their place hangs mirrors
Calling home small voiced
she asks after family and friends
politely, washing dishes as she does so,
the phone in the crook of her neck
She makes no friends, does not make love,
resents nothing and leaves no
holes in people's lives

New Orleans

So maybe there are too many flowers here
on the ground, and in the cotton;
weaving like lace through red dirt flesh.
Sun threatens necks and marinates eyes;
as balsa-spun bones tell laconic tales of age,
creaking and groaning like old southern mansions.
Mint juleps and almonds and peaches doze here,
and Eve has her fingers stuck down Eden's throat,
splashing sin and decadent fruits all over the city.
Our voices are slow and warping in the heat,
rising like egg steam off the sidewalks.
Honeysuckle flowers bloom with tarot cards
and suffocate the air with a drowsy nectar.

Dragon SlayerThis book is a story of stories.
It is fitting to begin with one of which there are so many variations.

     Somewhere where there was a wood, far away and long enough ago not to matter to people who thought that way of getting rid of problems best, a little child found a bird on a woodland floor. The child was a boy; it could have been a girl, too, for it was just a common child.
     But the bird was a majestic thing, which storytellers would later call the Simurgh Phoenix. It was crowned with glory, with wings like the sun, and all birds were made in its image.

Old Man NeptuneWhat immediately grasped me about the sea that day
was its tiredness;

the rain bit at waves that rippled, tensed like the skin

as I approached, a timid mouse quivering
at the writhes of a great fading lion.
Their plastic laughter rattled so meek under the wind,

mocking colours swallowed in the dolorous wet.
I scavenged mussel-shells, punctured by barnacles,
ugsome protrusions huddled like wrinkled eyes.

I waded in, looked the beast straight through. But my
bare cold ankles in the foam were overcome

by the pleading dribble of the slow-moving

Striking ChordsLike a flash of light,
these words that I see,
the results of a test,
wishing me a long life ahead.

And I find myself sighing...

Like a burst of heat,
these words that I see,
a note from a loved one,
unexpected - short and sweet.

And I find myself smiling...

Like the beat of a drum,
this heart that I hear,
a steady life-blood pounding,
with purpose, hope and fear.

And I find myself crying...

The chords of life,
striking so very oddly,
beautifully tragic,
this song is unfinished.

CrimsonAnd their crimson tears,
Dripped from their hearts.

Unseen but felt though the ripples they leave,
In the pond of emotions.

Causing tidal waves to erode the shores
Of another’s heart.

And with no heart of their own,
They depend on another

Meaning someone else’s heart,
Pumps someone else’s blood.

Yet crimson falls from there eyes,
And into their hair.

And when the rain falls, their hair
Will bleed like crimson tears

And only there eyes tell who lies inside
Making us guess...
