Mass Effect: Wrex by LegendaryFrog Mass Effect: Wrex by LegendaryFrog
My 2nd Mass Effect Fan art leading up to the release of ME3.

*some ME1 SPOILERS ahead!*

The fate of your Krogen buddy in the orignal Mass Effect was one of the many stand out moments in the game.

While you could easily talk your way out of Wrex getting out of line with a Paragon or Renegade option. Chances are, a player would have enough of this. When I first played, I wanted to see where normal conversation would get me... and after a stalemate Ashley shot him in the back. Thanks Ash.

While this made a powerful impact for that game, I really missed Wrex in the game's sequel. The exclusion of Wrex does not add to anything in ME2, and only changed the context of the events on his homeworld a bit. While the act of him being alive reminds you of the good times you had in the first game.

If I had to go back, I would have left him alive for my main play through, and iced him with for my 2nd character. This goes the same for the choices would could make in ME2 going into ME3 as well.... i doubt having a dead team member is going to make anything in ME3 more interesting. They simply won't be there.

Regardless, I have to applaud Bioware for having the option there in the first place.. and it really did impact me when I realized he was gone forever.

Oh. *ahem. SHEPARD.

Oh Wrex. I felt so guilty when I discovered the planet with his family's armor on it, and I realized it I'd gone there before Virmire, he'd still be alive. The end of the Virmire mission, with Wrex and Kaidan gone, made me feel so terrible and drained. I really doubted myself as a leader.

The immersion in these games really is amazing.

I found out as well if you are able to recover his family armor then he'll stand down because he respects you that much... so no need for high paragon/renegade stuffz

I remember losing many, many hours of my life on Mass Effect 1. Sadly have not had the machine to run 2 (or 3) but, it is on the old "to do" list =P

People who don't play Mass Effect are fools. You should eat them!

Thats really awesome that you are a Mass Effect fan. I have followed your animation career since the early 2000s because your taste in games was similar to my own. (no I'm not a creeper, promise!) However i did not know you were a mass effect fan. Thats too cool!

I was also drawn to Mass Effects unique cause and effect game play. My head spins when i think about the story charts Bioware had to create. lol.

I guess the only way to end a comment like this is with...

"Wrex."
